Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone is in southeast Shanghai, with Pudong airport to its north and Yangshan International Port to its south. It is an important node of the Shanghai Coastal Thoroughfare. The area encourages high-quality international capital to enter public service fields such as education, medical care, elderly care, culture and sports, park construction and urban operation. It will strengthen infrastructure development and management, and enhance high-quality international urban service functions to build a modern new town featuring openness and innovation, intelligent ecology, integrated urban and industrial development, and a friendly living and working environment.

For the first time in its history, Le Tour de France Criterium Ride will come Lin-gang Special Area and enables the participants to experience its scene via cycling. In order to show the booming construction of the town and embody Le Tour de France’s concept of public participation, the stage will include roads which represent unique characters of Lin-gang, such as Dishui Lake Core Area, seaside embankment and boulevards. The wind turbines as well as the East Sea Bridge are just alongside the track.
